The food gave me stomachaches. I ordered the fish of the day. The outside was good, but the inside was terrible. No pizza, no Pinot, and not many items to choose from
based on what we experienced last night, this is an average place... restaurant was cold inside when we got there and never really warmed up even after an hour while filled with people! management needs to acknowledge that unlike the moving staff, people sitting at table need to be eating their meal in a warm environment and it was just not it. Waiter was polite, friendly and available when needed.
we ordered wines by the glass and not cheap at $16 average per glass...food was delivered without a long wait but both entrees were luke warm not hot!!! one was sent back and was just average in taste, nothing special. Steak frites was fine...we ordered the brownie sundae for dessert and it was just ok, nothing out of this world. they charge $5 for bread if you order some so you know.
waiter kindly took off one entree off the bill after my friend barely ate any of it, taste was too greasy.
An overall average experience for this once great place we had visited 10 years ago.
too bad.
Wonderful place. We tried all the specials. Bean soup (delicious). Pot roast (so tender). Beignets (straight from New Orleans).
I really appreciated the portions, and that they were willing to split the entrées between me and my partner without any hassle. The wine list is also above reproach. Great variety of Sonoma county and external wines. Looking at you Bonny Doon from Aptos.
When we come back to Glen Ellen, this will be on the list to visit again.
Dinner on our second night in Sonoma was in the charming town of Glen Ellen, just south of Santa Rosa. Most of us chose the Prix Fixe dinner at "the fig cafe & winebar" featuring Duck Confit with one outlier having the pasta with wild boar. All paired with delicious Pinot Noirs from Niagara and California that we brought with us since the have very reasonable corkage. Another night to be remembered!
Similar to its sister restaurant, the food was out of this world. ???? Unfortunately, our waitress never came by our table after we ordered, and she forgot my wife’s drink. It was a busy night—and they appeared short-staffed—but she walked by us multiple times without checking in. All that said, it was a lovely meal and we would go back!
A little drive away from city is welcoming. The atmosphere is a delight. Just a glass of wine and a little appetizer is all you need. But if you want a little more, go for their duck confit. Delicious! Give it a try. It is just a little place that feel cozy
I’m completely smitten by The Fig Cafe. From the ambiance, the excellent service and attention to detail is just extraordinary. The food and menu are excellent. Our server Willy was a pleasure to interact with and it’s clear every employee loves their job. Dinner was just delicious, good size portions expertly prepared. The highest quality with reasonable prices. I’ll give Fig a rousing 10/10. I can’t wait to return.
We spent a lovely evening enjoying a delicious, fresh and flavorful meal at this wonderful gem that was lively, reasonably priced and had a wonderful and attentive waitstaff. We made reservations and glad we did because every table was full on a Tuesday evening but we were quickly attended to and our food arrived promptly. We loved the arugula and fig salad so much we purchased their delicious fig vinaigrette bottled dressing to take home. The brussel sprouts were some of the best we’ve had with lots of crispy pork belly, all tossed in a tangy sauce. My husband enjoyed a flavorful smoky burger with lots of yummy and creative toppings along with some delicious crispy hot fries. I opted for the appetizer bowl of fresh mussels in a fennel broth that came with crispy fries and charred bread. Perfection and a perfect entree sized portion! The restaurant is cozy and we chatted a bit with our neighbors, but it was a fun evening and the restaurant had a wonderful energy. Highly recommend a stop here if staying in or near Glen Ellen.
This review is from a recent Monday night dinner experience with one another adult. Prompt and friendly service, first course arrived within 5 minutes, warm atmosphere, mains came out hot and delicious, reasonably priced.
delicious food! I love their bread and fig and arugula salad… their service is great, they are warm and welcoming. I love coming to this place very often
Well, I'm just going to say it, I prefer the food and service at the "figlet" (as locals call it). It's just geared toward a small town vibe. Awesome service. Get the mussels and anything duck, fig and arugula salad and check out their pizzas, - our favorite pizza take out choice!
