Same principle as Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Point Montara Hostel is north of Half Moon Bay, to Moss Beach. Less exceptional than the previous one, the views are still amazing. A well-known destination for cyclists.

Montara Lighthouse and its hostel is a unique place to spend a night at the Pacific Coast close to San Francisco and the Bay Area. I first visited it with my family when we used to live in Redwood City during the 90s. .

Gates were closed when it said it was open online. I looked at reviews and it seems it hasn't really been open, a little sad bc we were trying to hit up all the light houses on our route. Google should be updated if this location is closed for good.

Attempted to visit but was unable to get in. The exit is a little tricky as it's not well marked, and if you blinked, you may miss it while driving 60+ on a main highway. The photos, none of which are mine, show a lovely overlook, beautiful scenery but unfortunately no access. I'm not sure why it's closed.
