We came for a few days to get away and drove past the restaurant and liked it. We decided to come back the next day for lunch, and it did not disappoint. He had fish and.chips.and I had the grilled chicken sandwich. The vibe food and service were great. I definitely recommend.

This was our first time at half moon bay brewing company. We really liked our beer selection, and I’m not much of a beer drinker, so that’s saying something! Our food was great and our server was nice. Would come back.

Solid establishment, I have been here before and it has been consistent. Beer is good and although we ate in this time, the nice outside seating with heaters, fireplaces, and wind breaks are nice. Beer is why you come and the food is good too. Poke starter is really good.

Come for AVÔ'S PORTUGUESE FISHERMAN'S STEW: Seasonal mix of fresh fish, shellfish, linguica (Portuguese sausage). Garlic broth with cilantro, fennel, tomato, red and green onion; with garlic bread. A family recipe created by co-founder and owner Lenny Mendonca's "Avô" (grandfather in Portuguese).

Stunning views of Mavericks and the ocean. Delicious food and drinks and a wonderful area to walk around and explore. I got the beer clams with fettuccine. So damn good.

Dining at this oceanfront restaurant was a delightful experience overall, thanks to its laid-back and chill atmosphere that perfectly complemented the picturesque setting. The freshness of the food ingredients was evident in every bite, showcasing a commitment to quality.

However, there were a few aspects that could be improved upon. The chips, while tasty, were unfortunately too salty and oily, detracting a bit from an otherwise enjoyable dish. On the bright side, their homemade fries were a standout, delivering a crispy and flavorful indulgence that left a lasting impression.

One notable downside for some caffeine enthusiasts is the absence of an espresso machine, limiting the coffee options available. Additionally, using a smaller spoon for coffee could enhance the drinking experience, allowing for more precise stirring and sipping.

Nevertheless, the restaurant's dog-friendly policy is a definite plus for pet owners, allowing them to enjoy a meal with their furry companions in a welcoming environment.

In conclusion, this restaurant offers a relaxed ambiance with fresh, flavorful ingredients and standout dishes like homemade fries, making it a great choice for a casual dining experience by the sea. Addressing the saltiness of the chips, using smaller spoons for coffee, and possibly expanding the coffee selection could further enhance the overall dining satisfaction.

Just meh. The waitress was a little overbearing and kept hounding us to order more. We were just having some beer and snacks.

Hadn’t been here for a while and today everything was top notch. My friend and I shared the fish & chips and an order of fried pickles. Everything was soo good!! She ordered a pint of the kolsch and I ordered a pint of the pomegranate prickly pear. Everything paired so well together. Absolutely love this place. Just wish I had sunglasses.

Excellent fish and chips, and beer. Their patio is in a beautiful spot right next to the ocean.

Half Moon Bay Brewing provides reasonable beer and food in a typical American pub format. None of it is exceptional, but it's reliably consistent and will make most everyone happy. Half Moon Bay Brewing also does a lot for the local community, and for that they should be celebrated.

Bartender (Sergio), was rude. Definitely won’t be coming back.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this one feels necessary. Some buddies and I decided to visit this brewery today for the first (and last) time. All we wanted was to drink a beer and be on our way, but instead we got an extremely rude bartender. Essentially, the bartender working (Sergio) did not appreciate being referred to as “boss” upon us ordering drinks. And it’s totally understandable that someone may not want to be called something other than their name, but this was said lightheartedly, with no ill intentions or notion that such a word may be viewed negatively. Said person was also not wearing a name tag. His response to hearing “boss” was to become intense and in a rude tone say “my name is Sergio, not boss, don’t call me that, that’s douchey, only douchebags say that.” Unfortunately, one of our friends was in the bathroom when this happened (so he was unaware) and upon returning asked “hey boss, can I just have a water?”. Sergio’s response once again was to explain that only douchebags speak like that. We ultimately felt too awkward staying, so we paid our tab and left.

There’s always a proper way to communicate how you feel, and this simply was not it.

Rushing me to order, asking I'd I want a box before I'm done eating, removing empty glasses. We could have ordered much more.. As an afterthought, it was just ok food anyway. Parking lot at the far opposite end of the entrance sucks in wet/windy weather. This used to be an annual stop when we visit. Can close the door on that.

Our family and friends’ favorite. Fresh oysters, fried calamari, fish&chips and many more. But the most important - any time, any weather and live music on weekend nights.

We saw that it was supposed to be a sunny day in Half Moon Bay, so we drove over and had an early lunch at HMBB this morning. At 11am, it was sunny and 70 degrees. We were seated at a nice window table with views of the ocean. Jenna, our server was very good! We started with a Mimosa and Bloody Mary. For lunch, we ordered the Dungeness Crab Roll and Dungeness Crab Louie salad.
Both were very good and filling!
On the way home, I took this photo in front of Lemos Farm regarding the 49'ers.

They used to have amazing food and service. Something changed. The food is just ok and the service is horrible now. The best thing about this place is the location.
