High standing hotel offering rooms that ensure a comfortable stay
The 35 rooms of this luxury boutique hotel ensure a comfortable stay in an elegant building. Close to the university, the Berkeley City Club was built in 1929 by Julia Morgan, famous for her architectural masterpiece, the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Listed as a historic building since 1977, the atmosphere is solemn and the decor refined. We particularly appreciate the hotel's swimming pool, which offers a chic setting. You'll find yourself in a palatial setting, with Julia's restaurant serving French cuisine.

Smells bad, expensive, no AC, bed is right in front of the door with a 30 cm space. Like what even is this? It should not qualify for a hotel.

A most exquisite place to visit. Julia Morgan was a talented, bold visionary. Many thanks to the members who keep this gem alive.

This place is living off its past and glorious history! While the building is fabulous, the management is not up to handling this Grand Dam and a new vibrant "team" should bring this fabulous building back to the heights of yesterday!

We had a last minute emergency that required us to change the venue of our fundraiser with less than 6 hours notice and the Berkeley City Club (and specifically Al-Leigh) were so incredibly helpful and accommodating! I am so grateful to their team and will recommend them to anyone looking to host an event in Berkeley.

Excellent customer service and beautiful vintage hotel with a great ambiance. We had a beautiful room overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Their complimentary breakfast was good in a fancy place with lots of nice details like fresh flowers everywhere, paintings, comfy couches, fireplace, piano… Walking distance to UC Berkeley and restaurants.
