The longest of the park's tracks, it is designed for experienced hikers. It starts at Lake Manapouri and ends at Lake Hauroko, or vice versa. If you choose to follow the route to Lake Hauroko, it is imperative to plan your return in advance. The trail crosses two passes (Centre Pass and Furkert Pass) and is often flooded during heavy rains. Don't forget your gas burner and refills, as finding dry wood is almost impossible.
