If you haven't been able to book a Great Walk, or are unable to hike over several days, there are plenty of other options available with Fiordland Day Walks! Around Milford Sound, Te Anau, Manapouri, Lake Monowai and Lake Hauroko, 10-minute to 6-hour walks are signposted for venturing into the park. Some circuits are accessible by bike. A particular highlight is the start of the South Coast Track, which you can take from the Rarakau parking lot to the beach: the lucky ones will be able to spot Hector's dolphins!
