With access to the Routeburn Track, Glenorchy is a real destination for walkers. One of the country's 11 Great Walks, this 33 km trail offers superb views of the surrounding mountains. The route passes through the magnificent scenery of the New Zealand Alps. In summer, it's essential to book in advance and ask about the shuttle service. Another option for a day's walk is a round-trip hike to Conical Hill. You can do the other part during your visit to Fiordland.
