In Governors bay, on the outskirts of town, on the Harry Ell Walkway that links the "Sign of the Takahe" to the "Sign of the Kiwi", stop off at the Sign of the Kiwi. Nestled in the heart of a park with beautiful panoramic views, this café-bar is an ideal place to take a break after exploring the surrounding area. Everything here is homemade and made on the premises, even the bread and yoghurt. Everything is delicious, but the place is particularly famous for its scones. Perfect to take away before tackling the short climb up to the viewpoint.
