GOLDEN BAY MUSEUM
Housed in the old post office, this museum offers an interesting exhibition on local history. All the history of the bay is found in the proposed collections. The colonization of Mohua (the Maori name for Golden Bay) began in 1300 with the Maoris, then with the Europeans at the end of the 16th century, but especially since December 18, 1642 with the arrival of Abel Tasman, which allowed the mapping of New Zealand. After two centuries of wars, the colonization is strengthened in 1842 with a way of life that changed Mohua forever.
