Adjacent to Queens Gardens, the Suter Art Gallery Te Aratoi o Whakatu is a modernly designed gallery featuring the work of leading New Zealand artists and craftspeople, with paintings, pottery, jewelry and more. There are also some temporary exhibitions of Tasmanian crafts. One of the oldest galleries in the country, there is also a 150-seat theater, an educational space, an excellent café, and a store filled with items made by local artists. The place also offers art classes for all ages.
