MTG HAWKE'S BAY

"MTG stands for Museum, Theatre and Gallery, simply because the building houses the regional museum, an art gallery and the Century Theatre. The MTG traces the history of the region, with a particular focus on the earthquake that devastated Napier, and the rebuilding of the town in its current Art Deco style. Renovated in 2013, it offers a redesigned space and is the city's cultural lung. Temporary exhibitions are often held here; see online for programs.
