Napier's former prison is one of the few institutions to have survived the 1931 earthquake. An audioguide is available on site. To delve into the city's prison past, you can choose between two types of visit: historical, based on the facts, or "haunted", focusing on what people saw or felt within these walls... the stories are sometimes spine-chilling... De passage à Napier pour quelques jours nous avons décidé de visiter cette prison c'est avec émotion que nous y avons pénétré et vécu un moment de vie sans doute extrêmement difficile pour ces prisonniers. Il est assez facile d'imaginer au vu des explications et de ce que l'on voit la vie dure qu'ils y menaient.
Pas évidente à trouver car pas loin de la grande promenade mais sur les hauteurs.
