KATIKATI BIRD GARDENS

This pleasant park will delight bird lovers and families. It's a great attraction for the warm weather, with more than 50 different species of birds and beautiful gardens located on the edge of Tauranga's inner harbor. The gardens combine water lily ponds, rare tree species, flowers, and many other elements that are ideal for a relaxing time. The park will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary and the original plantings (by Chris Parker) are still there: camellias, magnolias, azaleas, lilies. The visit lasts at least one hour.
