Behind its cold and harsh façade, the convent of the Ursulines, founded in 1635 in Monistrol-sur-Loire, houses three of Pierre Vaneau's finest works, wood sculptor of the seventeenth century: a golden wooden retable representing the death of Saint Joseph (3 x 2.35 m), undisputed masterpiece, as well as Marie-Madeleine and Saint Ursule, two statues in round-hump of about 1.65 m. A commented visit will delight lovers of art!
