Travel Guide Millé

At 145 km from Gewané, the town is located shortly after the left-hand fork leading to the highlands via Bati, where a magnificent market is held on Mondays. South of Millé, along the Awash, lies the site of Hadar, where the famous Lucy skeleton was found. Some tourist maps place it further north, towards Serdo. Apart from a certain amount of excitement for the archaeologists, there's not much to expect from the site itself, until it is developed by the local tourist authorities. Theoretically, visiting the site requires a permit issued to Semara by the tourist office.
