Located about 35 km from the capital, this cultural reserve is part of the Unesco heritage. The museum reopened in June 2012. It exhibits some of the many objects unearthed during the first excavations at the site. It also traces the history of Kernavė and, more broadly, more than 10,000 years of settlement history in the region, from the Stone Age to the end of the 14th century. The site covers almost 195 ha.

Rien à voir pour l'instant... en construction
Malheureusement, lors de ma visite en avril, le musée n'était pas ouvert et le site était "en construction" (comme presque toute la Lithuanie). Cela n'enlève en rien la beauté du site avec ses collines où l'on peut facilement imaginer que plusieurs châteaux se dressaient fièrement le long de la Neris... mais cela ne vaut pas encore la peine de s'y arrêter en 2022... Peut-être l'année prochaine?

Symbole de la résistance religieuse à l'athéisme imposé par les soviétiques
visite du kolkohz et ballade en kernavette (chassis de camion transformé en bus en bois)

Even without visiting the museum, Kernave is a place to see. It is hard to thinking, when you see these green hills, that it was the capital of Lithuania at a time. We still very simply lives in Kernavé, for example, we saw a couple driving in a horse-drawn carriage… ^ ^
