THE TORTUE

Installed in 1995, this sculpture by J. Bārda symbolizes life. A photo next to the mascot has become a traditional souvenir of a stay in Jurmala. On the beach, just in front of the turtle, you'll find another selfie opportunity: the Jūrmala sculpture (in summer, you may have to wait to take the break). Continuing right along the beach, you'll come across one of the city's most beautiful buildings: the former Emilija Racene swimming pool. Built in the early ^20th century, it was one of the most modern establishments of its time.
