Modernized and expanded building with stores, cafes, restaurants and a daily farmers' market

The French Market has been a fixture in New Orleans for over 200 years. While it has occupied various locations in the neighborhood and hurricanes have destroyed most of its structures, the building housing the Meat Market (1813) has survived, as has the Vegetable Market (1822). Since then, it has been modernized and expanded to include stores, cafes and restaurants, as well as a daily farmers' market. Part of it also serves as a flea market, selling all kinds of clothing, trinkets and souvenirs of varying degrees of authenticity.

sans intérêt
le French Market n’a pas d’intérêt : on y trouve essentiellement des produits made in China.... En revanche on peut y boire un verre ou y manger un snack dans un cadre sympa.

Très décevant comme endroit. Situé près de la rivière et au cœur du quartier français, on y retrouve surtout des stands où l’on vends différentes marchandises de bazar..rien à voir avec la Nouvelle Orléans et surtout à peu près rien provenant de l’industrie agricole. Un vrai piège à touristes sans intérêt et surtout mal entretenu comme endroit

Marché près de l'embarcadère du Mississipi décevant car on n'y trouve que très peu de choses et rien de bien original .

Très déçu !
Ce marché est un vrai attrape touriste, à part 2 ou 3 stands de nourriture local il est plutôt question ici de souvenirs en tout genre.
