CHIESA DELLA CATENA

In its barracks, the church houses approximately twenty mummified bodies of nuns who have been in Piraino. These catacombs are impressive because they are intact and have never been restored.

To visit them, you need to ask for access to the parish priest, because you can access it from the inside of the church, by a narrow staircase hidden under an iron slab in the nave. The church also houses a magnificent collection of th and th century religious ceremonies, as well as a Christ carved on wood dated the th century.
