SANTA MARIA DEGLI ALEMANNI

Santa Maria degli Alemanni, located right next to the Chiesa Santa Annunziata dei Catalani, is, together with the latter, a rare example of Sicilian Gothic architecture. It was built in the first half of the 13th century by order of the Teutonic Order. However, after the departure of the order, the building fell into ruin. It is thanks to numerous restorations and massive consolidations of the structure that this beautiful church was saved from oblivion.
