PIAZZA D'UNGHERIA

This square is surrounded by beautiful monuments, on a top of the city. The 14th-century church of San Giovanni contains a fresco by Borremans, an 18th-century Flemish artist. Nearby is the chiesa di S. Lorenzo al Patrisanto: inside, admire the baroque stuccoes and the splendid naves. Not far away, the Torre del Padre Santo which mixes Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance styles and the medieval walled city. Don't miss the chiesa di S. Stefano with its carved pink bell tower and the Commandery of the Knights of the Order of Malta (12th century).
