PIAZZA UMBERTO UNO

Caltagirone's main monuments are arranged around Piazza Umberto Uno, which could therefore be called the main square. The most important civil buildings are the sumptuous Town Hall and a late sixteenth-century Baroque hotel, the Corte Capitaniale, a long string of portals and windows, treated in a particularly sober style by artists of the Gagini family. The town's ceramists regularly exhibit their work here. Don't miss to have a look.
