The first palace in Ragusa was built in Baroque style, whose balcony consoles are decorated with sculptures of animals, monsters and provocative caricatures. The figures "i mascaruna i l'Archi" have always struck the popular imagination. Five grotesque masks hold symbolic animals in their mouths, such as the snake and the scorpion, dominated by allegorical figures of abundance: women with big breasts and men holding horns of plenty full of fruit, alluding to the wealth of the owners.
