Church with a façade displaying statues of saints of the Benedictine order
Among the 33 churches of the ancient city, many of which are Baroque, you can take a look at the church of San Giuseppe, a real gem. Its elaborate façade features statues of saints of the Benedictine order. Started in 1756 and finished in 1796, it has an original oval plan. The floor is beautifully enriched with ceramics and there is a fresco, The Glory of St Benedetto, and a statue of St Joseph of 1785 covered with silver. Next to the church, the former municipal palace is a wiser Baroque building.
