It can only be accessed and circulated by foot or by boat from the coast. It is necessary to walk in the small paths of this reserve unique in Sicily, to admire the slopes of the hills which form until the sea an infinity of small coves where one can bathe. The most beautiful beach, worthy of Sicily's idyllic postcards, is Cala dell'Uzzo. Three different itineraries are proposed.
The coastal path (2 hours in each direction, 7 km, easy). It passes through (starting with Scopello Galleria) Punta Capreria - Cala del Varo - C. da Zingaro - Contrada Marinella - Torre dell'Uzzo - Tonnarella dell'Uzzo. You can recharge your water bottles in Cala del Varo in summer and at the Museo Civiltà Contadina all year round.
The path at half height (7.5 km, 3 hours, average) must start at the northern access to San Vito. Tonnarella dell'Uzzo - Torre dell'Uzzo - Contrada Marinella - C.da Sughero - Borgo Cusenza - Canalone Grotte Mastro - Peppe Sino - Casa Forestale.
The ridge path. (8 km of loop, 4 hours, difficult). Departure from Scopello, arrival at Casa Forestale. Pizzo del Corvo - C. da Sughero - Borgo Cusenza - Canalone Grotto Mastro Peppe Sino - Casa Forestale.
Nights in a refuge. Possibility to sleep in cottages in the reserve, only along the path at half height. They are very basic, they are very simple dormitories. To do this, you must book via an online form on the reserve website, which you must send back by email.
