VILLA GIULIA
A beautiful 18th century romantic public garden with a dodecahedron sundial and imposing stone benches
This is a beautiful, romantic 18th-century public garden, adjoining the Botanical Gardens, but now abandoned. On the seafront stands a fountain designed by the architect Marabitti, with an 18th-century marble statue of the Genius of Palermo. It features a dodecahedral sundial carried by a young child, invented by the mathematician Lorenzo Federici. Surrounding the central fountain are four semicircular exedras designed for musical and theatrical performances. Imposing stone benches.
