BROADBILL FOREST CAMP
Arriving from Kabale, don't miss, 5 km before the UWA offices in Ruhija, the sign indicating the trail to Broadbill Forest Camp (located 1.5 km from the fork). Set between farmland and forest, this isolated camp is well worth the detour for its simple but well-kept tent safari tents, home-cooked meals made with fresh fruit and vegetables, a garden popular with chameleons, butterflies, primates and beautifully feathered birds, spectacular views and, last but not least, a smiling and knowledgeable team of birdwatchers!

Il lodge è pieno di camaleonti endemici con tre corna.

First impressions were surprisingly good. They offered a very short 15-30 minute tour to look for female and male chameleons around their lodge. The servers and workers were attentive and offered help when they can.
The rooms were clean and the beds had covered warm water pouches in the bed to keep warm. Room did get a little cold at night because rooms were tented and lodge was located in higher elevation. Bathrooms were big with a shower and a tub. Hot water in the showers can take awhile and wi-fi was only available in the dining/common area.
Food was good, but not a big fan of burnt pancakes.
If easily squeaked out by bugs, it might be an issue. We had a praying mantis on our chair in the room. No biggie though since it technically was located in the middle of nowhere in the mountains.
I had a great stay because my tour operator handled the logistics and communicated with them. Hopefully, the great customer service continues.
one criticism is that they tried to grab the chameleons off the trees for photo opportunities and that is not okay because i prefer not to stress out animals for some vanity.

We look forward to your next visit.
There is a guard at night on the camp ground.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and supportive. They also booked the Gorilla Trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
The Camp is only approx. 10 Minutes away from the entrance into the forest. Besides the unforgettable Gorilla Trekking we also booked a Bird Watching tour that we can only recommend.
The restaurant offers very good food at reasonable prices.
The last 3 - 4 km are a bit rough but good to manage, if you have a 4x4.
A great place that we recommend a lot!
