Built in 1883, Teatro José Jacinto Milanés - simply called "Teatro Milanés" - is a beautiful wooden building that fits perfectly with the neoclassical style of the time. It is one of the oldest theaters in all of Latin America. Its capacity of 500 seats and its plans inspired by the theater of Matanzas make it one of the most elegant in the country. Thanks to restoration work (carried out in 2006), the structure of the theater has been well preserved.
