CUEVA DE LOS PORTALES
Declared a national monument in 1980, the cave of Los Portales (11 km from La Güira Park) served as Ernesto Che Guevara's headquarters during the missile crisis in October 1962. In the cave, the period furniture and personal objects of the Argentinean revolutionary have been preserved, including his bed and chessboard. It is possible to camp in the middle of this exceptionally dense vegetation. Note that this cave is known to be frequented by many species of birds! Ornithologists and history lovers will find their account here!
