A hotel with a touch of style like Manhattan, but at Queens prices... Transforming a former paper mill into a superb boutique hotel is the Paper Factory Hotel's successful challenge. The site has preserved many traces of its past, between the brick walls and the books that pile up everywhere, for a resolutely industrial chic look. Apart from the affordable rates, we like the panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline. The plus: you'll be only two subway stops from Manhattan, which you'll reach in less than ten minutes.

This hotel was an okay option for a frequent traveler as I looked for proximity to manhattan and Astoria. No frills, but had a cool aesthetic and a small gym. Unfortunately I believe it is closed, as the phone is never answered and emails to support are bouncing.

Don't book this hotel, it's closed.
As of the time of this review, they are still for whatever reason taking reservations and payment.

I didn’t book this, someone else did for me because I don’t think I would have ever chose to stay here regardless the price. Check in was so complicated and didn’t make sense from the person explaining behind the front desk.
The hotel looks abandoned. There are zero services available. No restaurant, no bar, no nothing. It’s all there but none of it is open and functioning. Why you need to leave a deposit for incidentals is beyond me since there is literally nothing you can spend it on. Want something? There is nothing around the hotel but you can get some snacks at the vending machines on the 4th floor. How pedestrian.
Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.

The industrial-hip Collective Paper Factory hotel — which was once home to a historic paper factory — began housing migrants Friday after being converted into a Department of Homeless Services emergency shelter site for families, City Hall officials confirmed.
