Wendy Osloff and Penny Pilkinston (from London) started P.P.O.W. in September 1983, with a small gallery in the East Village. Having expanded several times, P.P.O.W. moved to the 3rd floor of a Broadway building in September 1988, before settling in SoHo. Both owners pay special attention to the quality of the different techniques used by their artists and to the political and social content of their works.
