NATIONAL ACADEMY MUSEUM
This beautiful mansion was left to the city by the husband of the sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington. Due to the artist, Diane hunter, located at the bottom of the staircase, leads her arrow and body into a superb bronze pointes. Like the Royal Academy of London (Burlington House), the National Academy of Design is an institution devoted to drawing, especially portrait. Each member of the Academy must not only bequeath a number of his works to the Academy, but make an obligation to teach it, as the founding painters wanted, Thomas Cole, Asher Durand and Samuel, F.-B. Morse (the inventor). The museum offers temporary exhibitions of a very high level (the same as the permanent collection). In the lobby you will find a beautiful art book library. If you are interested in drawing (and especially portrait), don't miss a visit to this intimate and moving museum where you will regale the quantity and quality of the works offered.
