Roosvelt Island aerial tramway offering a magnificent view over the East River from the cab.
Inaugurated in 1976, the Roosevelt Island aerial tramway is an attraction not to be missed if you are not afraid of heights. The cable car takes you from the Upper East Side to Roosevelt Island in 5 minutes top time. The view from the cabin above the East River is magnificent. There's not much to do on the island, except enjoy the view of Manhattan (it's even more beautiful in the spring, during Japanese cherry season!) and relax at Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, a memorial in honour of the 32nd American President.

Un bus rouge effectue le tour de l'ile gratuitement. Cependant pas grand chose à voir en dehors du mémorial Roosevelt.
On survole les routes, ponts, East River, on frôle les buildings, on se prend pour Icare.
Petite balade possible sur l'île et retour à Manhattan par le Tramway ou possibilité de prendre le métro pour rejoindre Queens.
Vraiment un bon moment original à peu de frais.
Essayez d'arriver tôt pour être bien placé à l'avant de la cabine pour prendre vos photos.
