The gallery exhibits temporary exhibitions, works by Ukrainian artists and a permanent collection of costumes, pottery and accessories. In a poster decor of old exhibits, framed and discoloured, one can see, among other curiosities, a necklace of bean seeds, a th century forest axe, with a bronze head and a disproportionate sleeve. Part of the collection was gathered in the 1930 s by the National League of Ukrainian Women living in the United States (founding association of the museum in 1976). It is also a true community centre for the many Ukrainians in New York: coffee, conferences, debates, screenings of films, readings, plays, etc.
