Steel bridge, ideal to cross very well on foot and by bike, serving as a setting for a beautiful and short scene from the movie "Manhattan"
This 1909 steel bridge, which connects Manhattan to Queens by crossing Roosevelt Island, is well known to Woody Allen fans. It is below this bridge, at the end of 58th Street, that Woody and Diane Keaton come to end their evening on a bench on the East River. The beautiful and short scene gave its poster to the film Manhattan (1979). The bridge, whose official name is Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge in honour of the former mayor of the city, is easily crossed by foot and bicycle. It is also used by runners in the New York Marathon.
