Renovated hidden castle in the middle of Central Park housing an information and exhibition center on the park's fauna and flora
Many New Yorkers are unfamiliar with this castle hidden in Central Park. Built in 1869, abandoned and renovated in 1983, it now houses one of the park's five information and exhibition centres on fauna and flora. The Henry Luce Nature Observatory exhibits the work of naturalists and attractions for children (telescopes, skeletons...). It is also where the weather services take New York's temperature and wind strength. After 15 months of renovations, the castle reopened in the summer of 2019.

Jolie découverte dans Central Park
C'est l'un des points les plus haut de Central Park qui est relativement plat. On y a donc une petite vue agréable. C'est un lieu de passage dont l'histoire est relativement ancienne.

En passant par le jardin de Shakespeare nous sommes arrivés au Belvédère Castle par hasard, et comme le hasard fait bien les choses ! Une vue magnifique sur le lac des tortues, nature verdoyante et reposante, on voit dépasser les buildings au dessus des arbres ... Wahou!! Une halte s'impose vraiment et nous fait oublié où nous sommes.

Château improbable au milieu de Central Park avec une vue superbe sur le théâtre Delecorte, le lac du Belvedère et la grande pelouse Great Lawn. On y trouve souvent des musiciens qui agrémentent cette étape dans le tour de Central Park.

Trop mignon ce petit château ! On ne s'attend pas à trouver ça au milieu de Central Park. D'en haut, on a un beau point de vue sur le parc.
