Beautiful Anglican church in Manhattan with a nave with beautiful stained glass windows housing a small museum that traces its history.
Founded by King William III in 1697, this superb Anglican church comprised several chapels, including St Paul's Chapel. Today's Trinity Church is the third version of the building, which was twice ravaged by fire - in 1846. Its neo-Gothic steeple and 93 m spire made it the tallest building in New York before the emergence of skyscrapers. The nave features some of the oldest stained-glass windows in the United States, and beautiful vaulted ceilings. A small museum at the back traces its history.
