If you go to New York a little broke, but you haven't forgotten the outings, go every night of the week to Ryan Maguire's Ale House for happy hour from 5pm to 7pm, especially interesting on beers and wine glasses. On Tuesday evenings, if you order a pitcher of beer, a plate of chicken wings will cost you 25 cents! On weekends, the bar is one of the few to broadcast football (the real one!) rather than American football. The atmosphere is friendly and good-natured.
