The dean (founded in 1848) and perhaps the most eccentric of gadget and unexpected gift shops, Hammacher claims to be "as nostalgic for the future as for the past". In its large and strange space, it offers an eclectic selection of objects: lamps, toys, watches, glasses, alarm clocks, massage devices, answering machines, torches, contact lens cleaners... The prices are not particularly cheap (we are in the suburb of Saint-Honoré, New York), but the selection always surprises. To visit, even if you don't buy anything.

Sur le chemin des musées ou d'un shopping vers Rockfeller Plaza, cette boutique old fashioned vaut le détour. Objets très originaux comme le tricycle à bière. Je suis reparti les mains vides, mais ça vaut le coup d’œil.
