Founded in 1991 by two enthusiasts, DMG has become a mecca for fans of trendy, avant-garde jazz. In the vernacular, downtown music refers to the experimental music that emerged in lower Manhattan in the early 1960s, pioneered by Yoko One. It is therefore this style of music, largely underground, that you should expect to find in this shop, in the form of numerous collectors, CDs and vinyls. On certain nights, the place hosts concerts and artistic performances.
