This cost-effective YMCA offers private rooms and dormitory beds, as well as access to sports facilities.

Located on Central Park West, this 585 room and dormitory YMCA is cool and hospitable. It is frequented by young travelers as well as families and businessmen. Access to sports facilities (swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, basketball courts, sauna, etc.) is included. Given the size of the residence and the number of guests, the reception is rather impersonal and the lobby looks more like a train station lobby than a hostel lobby. A small drawback is the cleanliness of the bathrooms, which sometimes deteriorates during the day.

Fatal. Cuando fuimos las habitaciones tenían puesta la calefacción a tope todo el día sin posibilidad de apagarla. Tan insoportable que tuvimos que dormir con la ventana completamente abierta (que por cierto era súper pequeña) en pleno invierno. En las habitaciones a penas caben las maletas y no disponen de ningún cajón ni armario. El hotel carece de zonas comunes por lo que no hay ningún lugar en el que te puedas sentar tranquilamente a comer o reposar. Las duchas estaban todas medio estropeadas.

Los recepcionistas súper desagradables, te miran y hablan con superioridad. Eso sí, el servicio de limpieza era correcto.

Lo único bueno la ubicación (cerca del metro, de Central Park y Times Square y de otros hoteles top) y el precio, supongo.

En conclusión, si quieres algo barato y solo para pasar la noche te lo recomiendo, pero yo personalmente buscaría otro lugar un poco más decente.
