Review is for the penthouse up top! Amazing views and perfect for any venue!

tedious weekend work, that seemingly goes unnoticed by most occupants.

Our stay at the Rivington hotel was absolutely dreadful. In the middle of the night, a hotel staff member attempted to forcefully enter our room at 3 am, shouting that no one was supposed to be checked into the room. This invasion of privacy left us terrified and unable to sleep for the remainder of the night. We were booked for a two-night stay but promptly checked out the next morning due to this horrifying incident. Needless to say, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare and we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

It's one of the best hotels in NYC. Great rooms, great service, and great views. The location is great. Everything is close, including restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, movie theater, and across the street Economy Candy Shop.

The rooms are huge and the bed was SO incredibly comfortable! Very helpful staff. Located in one of the coolest hoods in New York. You are surrounded by great restaurants, bars, and transportation.

Highly recommended if you are looking for a fairly priced hotel in the good location. Rooms are quite big and clean. The views from the hotel are amazing- there are very few hotels in NYC that can boast similarly great views from the hotel rooms. Also, make sure you visit their wine happy hour to see the beautiful sunset over the city. It is located in the fun neighbourhood

This is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are a decent size for NYC, but don't be fooled by these other reviews. The price is appropriate for the place, as in, cheap. The art in the halls is very creepy and gives a serial killer theme vibe? Room decor is very cold and 90s, as is the tv and the bathrooms DO NOT have Le Labo products. The elevators are sketchy and seemed on their last leg. 'Coffee' Service in the morning upstairs is a literal Keurig and no to go cups or actual mugs to drink it in. This place is a good choice if you are in a backpacker 20 something mentality and just need somewhere to crash your head. It is not quiet though, so you might not get much sleep. Will not stay again, wish I'd booked the Standard for the exact same price, where I know the hotel is at least 3 star quality.

We stayed in the “owners suite” (Penthouse) for my birthday and it was breathtaking. Similar to a Las Vegas Penthouse. Room was super clean and the staff was phenomenal, 5 stars is not enough. This is my 5th time booking here and 1st time with the penthouse. I did not want to leaveeeee. Will definitely return!! Thank You Hotel on Riverton

We stayed in the Rivington in August of '22 and March of '23. It's our favorite place to stay because of the window-suites that overlook Midtown and FiDi. Wall to wall windows where one can take in the city-scape at the various times of day. Lobby is friendly and we always grabbed water on the way in and out. We didn't avail ourselves of the free breakfast because we like to eat out and about. They also have a free wine hour, but who spends time in their hotel in NYC? Looking forward to another stay in May.

If you're in 1506, don't take the key. The room smells like smoke that's been covered with a cheap spray and the management claims it's fine. My girlfriend ordered a romance package and has been chasing them down to get them to give everything they should have included. We won't book here again.

The staff is willing to bend over backwards for you. The manager is absolutely excellent. We have about 20 people stay here and then hosted an event on the 20th floor. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel important and a priority.

The hotel has a very unique vibe. Don’t expect a carbon copy room like a Hilton or Marriott. It’s a great experience, especially if you’re traveling alone for work. Part of the rooms feel like they’re purposefully outdated. It fits the vibe overall.

Definitely get a delivery from the delivery robot. He brought me a bottle of wine to my fourth floor room and it was the highlight of my trip.

I loved staying here, and would again when traveling for business, but not sure I would bring my wife and three kids.

The price was exceptional. For $150, I feel like I got a clean, safe, great hotel value in NYC.

The 20th floor is a great area to host a small corporate or private event. I think it would be great for weddings too.

Well... House keeping is 0 stars. Front desk is legit and friendly. We wanted to upgrade our room because the view from our original room was not great, and they upgraded for free.

2 days in a row, we skipped house keeping (you're welcome). Third day, we were gone and house keeping came... Took trash and brought new towels - besides that, no cleaning, no new cups/glasses, bed un-made. One of the days (day 2 or 3 of our stay) they took the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel without replacing it - no problem, they'll leave it tomorrow... They didn't - had to ask the front desk. Oh and day 3 of our stay, house keeping came while we were getting ready and we said we'd be leaving in 20 minutes and they literally tried to negotiate with us to leave sooner.

This morning, their breakfast (which is bagels and pastries) ran out. And the entire time we've been here, they don't have juice or water.

Last night here, after a day out, came back and front door is locked with no one at desk, and it's not even 10 pm. Got to room and called to ask for wine and glasses - no answer. Called again 10 minutes later, surprise surprise, no answer.

If you're looking for mediocre, on your own type of hotel, this is the place. The people that work at the front desk are super nice... BUT, the service (especially house keeping) is exceptionally unimpressive.
