Anthony at the front desk was terrific. This hotel was very flexible with me when I was a little bit difficult.

I booked my hotel based off of my New Year’s Eve plans, which was dream midtown. I took a flight from Tampa to New York for the occasion. Fast forward to my arrival at the venue on New Year’s Eve we get upstairs and pass all the inside tables like the cushion tables which was pictured for the vip tables those all had the ice with champagne bottles and the sections set up we get to our table which was a bar top by the door, people were sitting there since it was apart of bar then my server had them moved so we could sit as we notice everyone is going in and out and our table just wasn’t ideal not like anybody else’s section we asked to at least move outside. So then we’re moved theres no ice for the champagne so I just set it on table and held it due to table being unsteady when I asked for something to put under table I was told no because this isn’t usually the vip. All I wanted was a napkin or something to fix, then as the night went on the server checked on us at the beginning to insure we got the first appetizer. After that I waited all night by myself at the table because my fiancé had to get us drinks all night standing in line. Which the bartender also tried to charge us for drinks which I thought was odd, Of course a tip but why would we pay on an open bar and vip? Server never came back to table after the first app which was the only appetizer. So we couldn’t order any bottles or any drinks. Resulting in him waiting all night in line I also had to argue with several people while he was gone due to people trying to take the seat or them pushing through us to take pictures, had people put there phones in our faces. Also had people put their drinks on our table, I informed security nothing was done. Honestly just seemed like it was over sold because when I made my way to bathroom I seen all the vip tables which were very nice not sure why we we didn’t have a spot in there lots of two tops low tables, inside with bottles and drinks seem to be having a great time which I planned to have. So bummed out. Was very deceptive and not what I expected for what was advertised. now I’ve been back and forth for months with a manager that just stopped answering me. FRAUD

A lovely hotel in midtown! Room size was to be expected for NYC, Karl Lagerfeld toiletries, the most comfortable (& Instagram-worthy) bed, and wonderful staff that went above and beyond. I was in town for a conference and would stay here again!

Stayed here back in August. Great location and close to public transit. The staff was so accommodating and very patient! When we went to drop our bags off before check in time, there was a belligerent man making a huge unnecessary commotion, the staff handled it gracefully and with good humor.

It was a nice night out with friends, upbeat music, good drinks and nice appetizers. Only downer was that we couldn’t find the photo ops to take pictures, but would definitely go back.

Great location, very easy to get around NY. The rooftop bar was also really cool with great views. Really comfy beds with nice bathrooms. Good sound insulation so we had a good sleep. The TV didn’t have Netflix etc (so maybe bring your own firestick). some of the reception staff were a bit cold, but the bag handling man was very friendly. Room service phone also went unanswered on two nights.

Dream is a recent acquisition by Hyatt, and place needs a complete overhaul. Stayed for a couple of nights in the suite room. I suggest trying the Thompson on adjacent 56th st. over this one.

Great time. Rooms are fine, have nothing negative to say. Except maybe a small coffee machine in the rooms would have been nice.

No coffee in the rooms or in the lobby. The WiFi didn’t work in my room and the water in the shower was brown. Not recommended

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid January. The hotel is pretty much a dump by 4+star NYC hotel standards in a good location.

Room was tiny(to be expected) what wasn’t expected was the chipped paint everywhere combined with a filthy carpet along with no decor on the walls other than a mirror and a Tv. There was a decommissioned mini bar that was unplugged and taking up space in an already small room, there was nowhere to put a suitcase other than the floor.

I’ve been an explorist with Hyatt for a few years and this is the first hotel to not even mention my status upon check in or offer any kind of upgrade paid or otherwise. Most of the employees with the exception of the concierge who had just come back from vacation were not the best

The worst part was my final day literally 5 minutes after normal checkout time I’m in the shower and someone from housekeeping try’s to enter my room without knocking and then proceeds to BANG on the door as if they are the police. When I answer she asks why I haven’t left and says I need to leave, I explain I have prearranged late checkout with the front desk. She simply responds she didn’t know without an apology or anything acknowledgment she is in the wrong. I say you should probably speak to the front desk before banging on a guests door that way and shut the door.

2 days after checkout and filling out the survey I get an email from a Grace Z who says she is the director of front office with an apology and offer of bonus points as amends. I respond saying thanks and I will perhaps give the hotel another chance in the future.. fast forward 10+ business days later and she hasn’t followed through. I’ve tried contacting her as well as the hotel multiple times with no luck. Par for the course I guess considering the lackluster stay why would I expect anything more after they’ve gotten $900+ out of me

I absolutely would not stay at this hotel again and sadly as the first time staying at a Dream property and the poor experience and follow through it puts a bad seed in my mind about trying other dream hotels in other places.
