Excellent cheeseburgers, mac'n'cheese and the best comfort food in a New York restaurant.
The best of comfort food, those not-so-light dishes from the American South, is at Jacob's Pickles. As an aperitif, order the cookies, servedwarm with butter and jam. The cheeseburger and mac'n'cheese are delicious. But if you're tired of ordering the same dishes over and over again, try bacon grits (polenta), a dish that comes to us from the native peoples. Or try cookie and gravy, a dish popular in the American South that's topped with a fatty white sauce.
