One of the many Japanese restaurants in St Marks Place (if you come from 3 rd Avenue, let yourself be tempted): Mange, ravioli, tempura, soups, edamame (soy seeds), plum rice, and small fried squid tentacles. The atmosphere is nice and rather noisy. For an authentic experience, sit in the bar with a Japanese beer Asahi or Kirin, and taste something other than sushi. The cooks, a bandeau on their head, are looking for you in the smoke and steam.
