CHURCH OF CONSOLATION

Known as Santa Maria la Mayor, it became the main church of the city after the desiccation of the abbatial church of the Fortaleza de la Mota. Occupied by Franciscans at the beginning of the sixteenth century, she experienced many architectural changes until the end of the eighteenth century. Inside, there is the Virgen de las Mercedes, patron saint of the city.
