This natural park, which covers an area of more than 40,000 hectares, crosses the provinces of Granada and Malaga. Within La Axarquía, 8 municipalities are crossed by this park: Alcaucín, Canillas de Aceituno, Canillas de Albaida, Cómpeta, Frigiliana, Nerja, Salares and Sedella. Water has shaped the landscapes there, as it did for the Cuevas de Nerja. It is an ideal place to practice canyoning, climbing or caving, follow mycological routes and observe birds.
