Almohad watchtower that served to reinforce the walls of the Alcazar by controlling the river traffic in Seville

This is another emblematic building of Seville, located on the banks of the Guadalquivir. Built in the 13th century this Almohad watchtower was used to reinforce the walls of the Alcázar by controlling the river traffic and every evening the Moors would stretch a huge chain connected to another tower on the other bank. The small tower that crowns it was once decorated with golden tiles, which is how it got its name. Today, it houses a maritime museum which allows visitors to discover the interior of the tower, but also to learn about Seville as a port.

La tour de l'Or est en réalité le musée naval de la ville. Ce monument, emblématique, est situé sur les rives du Guadalquivir. Mais le véritable intérêt de ce lieu est le haut de la tour qui permet d'avoir un superbe panorama sur Séville. La visite est gratuite le lundi.

Joli point de vue au 2eme niveau. Petit musée au 1er avec 3 maquette des bateaux de Cristophe Colomb. Pas mal mais sans plus. Pas inoubliable. Prix d entrée 3e au 1er mai 2016
