One of the most beautiful cloistered convents in Seville, which houses a museum in its outbuildings
This is one of Seville's most beautiful cloistered convents. Behind the gateway to the street opens the door to the church, which blends Gothic, Mudejar and Renaissance styles. The coffered ceiling covering the nave is the work of carpenter Diego Lopez de Arenas (1623). Like many other convents in the city, the nave contains two altarpieces dedicated to Saints John the Evangelist and John the Baptist. The oldest sculpture, Christ of the Coral, dates from the 15th century. The convent also houses a museum in the outbuildings, and the nuns sell pastries: quince jams and pastes made with fruit from the orchard.
