LE MARCHÉ AUX FRUITS ET LEGUMES

Topped by strange concrete cylinders, the characteristic but not very graceful building is a landmark in the heart of the city. As with all the island's markets, the atmosphere inside is well worth a visit, not least for the varieties of fruit, flowers and vegetables beautifully displayed, the scents of spices and local produce, the faces, colors and scenes of life. A few sandwich and dholl-puri vendors have stalls in the immediate vicinity... Take a snack break.
